MP TASIKANI BACKS ZPCS SPORT AS GOVT PUSHES HEALTH AND WELLNESS IN MASH EAST
MUTOKO – Hon. Isaac Tasikani, MP for Mutoko South, has reaffirmed Government’s commitment to grassroots sport development after donating full kits and equipment to winners of the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service, ZPCS, Mashonaland East Provincial Officer Commanding Tournament held at Mutoko Government High School over the weekend.
The tournament brought together officers from ZPCS stations across the province for a weekend of competition, camaraderie and wellness.
In line with the Government’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind, Hon. Tasikani presented soccer and netball kits to winning teams, as well as sports balls and sewing machines, among other items.
Held under the theme “ZPCS Fighting Drug and Substance Abuse Through Sport”, the tournament forms part of the Service’s Health and Wellness agenda. It also supports the Public Service Commission’s thrust to promote fitness, mental wellbeing and networking among civil servants.
With Mutoko now having hosted a successful provincial event, attention shifts to selecting Mashonaland East’s best teams to represent the province at national level.
The partnership between Parliament, ZPCS, and local communities is seen as key to rolling out Government’s health, wellness and anti-drug programs to every district.
