Hello leaders. Last month we hosted a successful project The Grow and Lead Project Cohort 1 on the fundamentals of public speaking, helping 25 girls from all over Africa to grow into powerful women who can speak with confidence and communicate effectively. This project was a partnership of Rail Of Hope, She is GIRL Foundation (Zambia) and JCI Metro Zimbabwe. Rail Of Hope as a partnering organization, would love to acknowledge one of the Facilitators, Tinashe Dahwa.

Working alongside Tinashe Dahwa in the Grow and Lead project has been a deeply inspiring experience. He have a rare gift of making people feel seen and valued, no matter where they are starting from. In every session, he meet participants with patience, encouragement, and genuine care, qualities that turn nervous voices into confident leaders.

I have watched young people walk into the room shy ( google meet room) , unsure if they had anything worth saying. By the end of Tinashe's sessions, those same individuals were standing tall, speaking with conviction, and sharing stories that moved everyone listening. That kind of transformation is not about teaching alone, itt’s about the trust and safety he creates.

What stands out most is the way Tinashe lead by example. He do not just talk about effective communication or the fundamentals of public speaking ; he live it. Tinashe's openness invites others to do the same, and that ripple effect has given participants the courage to own their voices and believe in their potential.

For me, Tinashe is not just a facilitator of the project, he is a catalyst for change and a reminder that true leadership is about lifting others as you climb.

We Are Partnering for Impact!

We at Rail of Hope are excited to announce a special partnership with the She is GIRL Foundation. Together, we are launching a powerful new program to help women grow in confidence through public speaking and moderation training.

This training is all about helping women find their voice, speak with courage, and lead with strength in their homes, workplaces, and communities.

What the Program Offers:

1. Training for 15 women who are ready to become confident speakers and skilled moderators

2. Online sessions held twice a week, over a period of 4 weeks

3. Lessons on how to speak clearly, lead conversations, host events, and build self-confidence

4. A supportive space to grow, share, and connect with other women on the same journey

Personal Development Webinar 4, held on 3 July 2025 and hosted by Rail Of Hope, featured the phenomenal Josiane Adolphe who delivered a powerful session on “The Art of Public Speaking: How to Speak with Confidence" was a success.

Josiane shared timeless wisdom on how public speaking is not a gift reserved for a chosen few but a skill that anyone can master with preparation and commitment. She emphasized the importance of having full knowledge of your topic and understanding your audience two key factors that help you speak clearly and confidently without stammering.

She also highlighted the transformative power of practice. “Practice makes perfect,” she affirmed, reminding participants that great speakers aren't born they are made through repetition, courage, and dedication. Her empowering message shattered limiting beliefs and built a foundation of confidence in every listener.

This impactful session brought together passionate individuals from Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Kenya, creating a vibrant cross-border learning experience. Lives were changed, confidence was built, and voices were empowered a true testament to the mission of Rail Of Hope.

On 27 June 2025, Rail of Hope hosted Personal Development Webinar 3 featuring guest speaker Tendai Finhai, a Culinary Arts and Hotel Catering student at the University of Zimbabwe. Tendai focused on the power of understanding your passion. He emphasized that no one should define you only you can uncover what truly drives you. Passion, he shared, is often something you do naturally and effortlessly. He encouraged honesty and self-reflection as the first steps in discovering one’s purpose, and once discovered, to use it positively and with intention.

Tendai also shared his personal journey, revealing how everything changed when he acknowledged his dream of becoming a chef. He redirected all his energy toward that goal, even transforming how he used the internet his search history became filled with educational content to help him grow. “You become what you feed on,” he said. The webinar was an eye-opening experience, and we appreciate everyone who joined us. See you next week!
