The recent stakeholder engagement meeting gave Hauna residents an opportunity to raise concerns about ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐, ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐, ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ and the proposed ๐ฃ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ development.

Residents highlighted the poor road leading to ๐๐ฎ๐๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐น and roads in ๐ฃ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ, which reportedly turn into streams during the rainy season due to poor drainage.
Residents called for rehabilitation and, importantly, ๐ฐ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐.

Phase 4 was one of the biggest issues discussed, as many attendees came from potentially affected households.
Council and the District Development Coordinator's office indicated that existing structures would first be considered when planning stands.
However, some structures ๐บ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ where proposed roads and infrastructure need to pass.
The meeting was also informed that people who settled after ๐ญ๐ต๐ด๐ฎ would be expected to pay full stand fees when stands are gazetted, while compensation may not apply in certain cases.
Residents now need clarity on the ๐ฃ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐๐, ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐๐, ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ต๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ๐ต๐ผ๐น๐ฑ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐.

Hauna continues to grow, including increasing informal structures around the CBD. Residents want that growth to be accompanied by proper ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐, ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ, ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ, ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป and organised settlement planning.
