MBERENGWA WARD COUNCILORS AND ZIMSHEC DURING DOROWA MINERAL LIMITED ( DML) TOUR IN BUHERA DISTRICT SUPPORTED BY SILVEIRA HOUSE

On 11th December 2025, ZIMSHEC a local Community Based Organization ( CBO) for Midlands, Matebeleland provinces for artisanal and Small Scale Miners that promotes safety health environmental issues embarked on a learning journey Buhera mining tour by Silvera House with Mutoko, Mberengwa and Buhera districts stakeholders. An exchange visit that was very helpful, educative and fruitful for mining impacted communities in Zimbabwe.

DOROWA MINERAL LIMITED ( DML) TOUR IN BUHERA DISTRICT SUPPORTED BY SILVEIRA HOUSE WITH MUTOKO, MBERENGWA AND BUHERA STAKEHOLDERS

DML ( Dorowa Mineral Limited) Human Resources and Community Resources and Community Relations department, Safety Health and Quality department and Mining department had the opportunity to deliver presentations on how they work or operate in their various departments during tour of mining companies in Buhera district on 11th December 2025.

IMPROVED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS BY DOROWA MINERAL LIMITED ( DML) IN BUHERA DISTRICT WARD 9 BUHERA
DML which is situated in Ward 9 under the leadership of Councilor mr Mayepi engages community people regularly on quarterly basis hence building good relationships between the mining company and community people.

DML 's improved CSR ( Corporate Social Responsibility) is achieved through engaging the community regularly on quarterly basis reviewing minutes from previous meetings with community people.

MUTOKO, MBERENGWA AND BUHERA EMBARKS ON A MINING TOUR, VISITING DOROWA MINE IN BUHERA

On 11th December 2025, Environmental Monitors, Mutoko RDC, and community leadership + Headman Nyamutsahuni had the opportunity to participate and embarked on a learning journey, Buhera mining companies tour brought together various Community Experts, Ward Councilors, EMA ( Environmental Management Agency) ,traditional leadership and stakeholders from Mutoko, Mberengwa and Buhera districts.

Thanks to Silvera House for bringing communities together for a mining tour to Dorowa Mineral Limited ( DML) and Sabi Star Mine in Buhera North Constituency Manicaland province. Lessons learnt from the mines tour, Dorowa Mineral Limited ( DML) which was established in 1945 produces Phosphate and Magnatite minerals. Phosphate mineral that is used to manufacture Compound D fertilisers etc.

Successful community engagements by DML mining company through their Human Resources and Community Relations department that engages regularly with community people on quarterly basis, improved Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR) through assisting Buhera communities with building of schools, Clinics and borehole drilling etc.

SILVEIRA HOUSE IN COLLABORATION WITH MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC WORKS HOSTS MUTOKO DISTRICT MINING EXPO

Today 09 December 2025, Silvera House in partnership with Ministry of Local Government and Public Works hosted a district mining- Expo at BSPZ building in Ward 22 Mutoko. EMA ( Environmental Management Agency), Mutoko RDC ,community leadership, stakeholders, mining companies and community people participated during today's mining carnival exhibitions.

The mining carnival exhibitions hosted by SILVEIRA HOUSE in partnership with Ministry of Local Government and Public Works served as a learning platform where communities gained practical knowledge on environmental protection, resource utilization and responsible mining practices, lessons learnt during the mining carnival interactions.

MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC WORKS IN COLLABORATION WITH SILVEIRA HOUSE INTENSIFIES STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT MEETINGS IN MUTOKO DISTRICT

Today 05 December 2025, Ministry of Local Government and Public Works in collaboration with Silveira House successfully participated in a Mutoko district stakeholders engagement meeting with all government departments and Mutoko RDC department of Environment and the meeting was held at DDC 's offices in Mutoko.

Thanks to Silvera House for their collaborative efforts with Ministry of Local Government and Public Works for providing such a fruitful interactive platform for all stakeholders, government departments and Mutoko RDC to air their views and concerns on improved Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR) , advocating for improved road services + infrastructure development and improved welfare of Mutoko mining impacted communities and Mutoko district at large thereby promoting environment cohesion and social cohesion.

Signicance is rooted in the impact we have on our communities, on 16 Nov 2025 Hon MP Makwiranzou, Central Committee member muzvare Annah Kadiki, Provincial member muzvare Pedzisai Dimingo and a well respected business entrepreneur mr Bernard Kasekete visited and toured Ward 12 Gwaze rural Clinic which is on its final stages of construction process, completion and awaiting for the official opening for past decade.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts by Ward 12 Councilor mr Mapisaunga, former Ward 12 Councilor mrs Chipo Shambare and Ward 12 community people for joining hands working together to construct Gwaze rural Clinic. The news of the community leadership and business man mr Kasekete's visit has been met with jubilation by villagers. A well respected business man mr Kasekete was moved by the community plight of facing challenges in accessing health services, traveling long distances ( more than 20km) to seek medical assistance and pregnant women giving birth on their way to long distant Clinics or Hospitals before reaching their destination to access health services.

Business man mr Kasekete moved in to assist with building materials for the construction of Gwaze rural Clinic situated at the boundary of Katsande and Tsiko village in Ward 12 Mutoko thereby combining efforts with the community leadership Hon Deputy Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Dr Engineer C Makwiranzou, Ward 12 Councilor Mapisaunga and local business man mr Kasekete are combining efforts to pursue with construction, completion and the official opening of Gwaze rural Clinic which is going to assist and offer health services to community people .

Community Led Mining, Advocacy and Governance ( CLIMAG) project by Silveira House is making significant strides towards promoting environmental awareness and environmental cohesion in Mutoko mining impacted communities.
Thanks to Community Led Mining, Advocacy and Governance ( CLIMAG) project manager mrs Zandile Mvududu and her hard working team for their efforts in empowering Environment Monitors/Community Monitors, Community Experts and community people with environmental awareness knowledge and awarenesses on ESIA ( Environmental and Social Impact Assessment) .
However more work needs to be done and more environmental awarenesses needs to be done in improving efforts to compliment government of Zimbabwe's initiatives in safeguarding our environment.

COMMISSIONING OF A NEW CLASSROOM BLOCK CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AT GURURE PRIMARY SCHOOL BY HON DEPUTY MINISTER AND MP MAKWIRANZOU
On 13th September 2025, Hon Deputy Minister of Mines and Minerals Development and Member of Parliament for Mutoko North Constituency Dr Engineer Caleb Makwiranzou donated cement and building materials for the construction of a new classroom block at Gurure prim sch in Ward 5 Mutoko. Hence commissioning a classroom block construction project and continuing with his commitment to education and community welfare.

Hon Dr Makwiranzou was accompanied by the community leadership and Headman Kadiki. Community leadership represented by mr Chidhakwa and mr Jaspa Masango commended and applauded collaborative efforts by Hon Dr Makwiranzou, Ward 5 Councilor mr Mahara and Nyamuganhu Ward 5 community people moreover lauded their efforts of embarking on this crucial construction journey.
Therefore construction of a new classroom block at Gurure primary school will go a long way in improving education and welfare of our children as well as shaping the future of the young generation.
