SHINE FBO & TREE OF LIFE EMBARKS ON PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT JOURNEY, STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES'S ABILITY TO COPE AND PROMOTING SOCIAL COHESION

On 5th June 2026 Shine Faith Based Organization and Tree Of Life held a successful, helpful Psychological First Aid ( PFA) workshop in Mawanga Ward 12 Mutoko. PFA workshop aims to strengthen community capacity to provide humane, supportive and practical assistance to individuals, families and communities experiencing emotional distress after crises, emergencies, violence, disasters or other difficult situations hence promoting social cohesion.

Psychological First Aid ( PFA) is a humane and supportive approach that is very helpful to individuals, families and communities experiencing distress/ trauma. It reduces immediate emotional suffering, promote safety, calmness and strengthen people's ability to cope and recover.

NATIONAL AIDS COUNCIL JOINED HANDS TOGETHER WITH OTHER DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS & STAKEHOLDERS COMPLIMENTING GOVERNMENT'S EFFORTS IN ENDING ALL FORMS OF ABUSE IN SCHOOLS DURING THE LAUNCH OF: NOT IN MY SCHOOL CAMPAIGN AT MTK HIGH SCH

On 29th May 2026 National Aids Council ( NAC) joined hands together with other development partners and stakeholders complimenting government's efforts in ending all forms of abuse in schools, environment and community. NAC Mutoko district office mr Gift Kakomwe reaffirmed NAC's commitment towards reduction of all forms of abuse which has become rampant in our schools and he underscored the need for collaborative efforts by traditional leadership, community leadership, schools and community people in ending all forms of abuse which also exposes learners to the risk of contracting HIV.

Speaking during a successful and fruitful meeting that was held on 15th May 2026 at Mutoko Rural District Council offices, Mutoko traditional leaders, community leaders and DDC Mutoko pledged their support and commitment to ensure that community voices of Mutoko and surrounding communities are empowered through the establishment of Budja Community Radio a vibrant community initiative that bring people together across differences, political, social and economic aspects.

NATIONAL AIDS COUNCIL ( NAC) MALE ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMMES IN MUTOKO VERY CRITICAL INTERVENTION MEASURES IN TACKLING HIV

Recently towards the end of last month April 2026, National Aids Council held its 2026 first Quarter Review meetings for BCCMs and Sister to Sister mentors on 22, 23 April 2026 where all BCCMs & S2S mentors from Mashonaland East province convened in Murewa Chibhanguza Hotel.
Through the National Aids Council 's Behaviour Change Community Motivator ( BCCM) model, men from different Mutoko communities are now opening up ,participating in HIV & AIDS awareness and prevention programmes.

During BCCMs Review meeting, it was noted that Behaviour Change programme is slowly changing attitudes around masculinity and helping men understand that seeking health care is not a sign of weakness and inclusion of adolescent boys,young men within male club groups is also helping to shape positive attitudes early.
NAC 2026 intervention measures include Male Engagement programmes, support for adolescent girls & young men, support for people living with HIV, youths programmes, drug & substance abuse awarenesses.
