In honor of the noble man, in June 2001, the first Varindra Tarzie Vittachi International Youth Conference was held under the theme “Educating the Human Future”. The host was Atlet Century Ho

tel in Jakarta, and 250 participants were in attendance from across the glob. Underpinning the conference, was the focus on creating settings where young people can interact, share and challenge each other to create an international committed to dynamic life long and experiential learning to face the many challenges. Central to the conference was the recognition of adults that would uplift the spirits of young people through mentorship. b) August 2003 “Learning to live Personally Sustainable Life” Colorado, USA
c) July 2006 “Rethinking Educational Change” Infrane, Morocco
It is from the above exposure, experience, training and mentorship that Mr. Munyaradzi Muzenda an active youth worker from Zimbabwe was inspired to implement the project called AFRICA SPEAKS. Hugh Lynn, of New Zealand and who was a staff member during the Vittachi Conference has been mentoring and standing by Mr. Muzenda has been enabled to Network with all the SADC and Eastern African nations through which Africa Speaks has created a resource of leadership and resourceful creative arts programs. The driving force for Africa Speaks is the works of Guerrand Hermes Foundation for Peace, Dr. Varindra Vittachi, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, Mr. Nelson Madiba Mandela, Professor Mazoroi, and many such activists, revolutionaries who made Africa be rebated and protected from extinction of its cultures, beliefs and values. ISSUE ANALYSIS
Recent years have witnessed dramatic changes and influences in the lives of young people in Africa, as elsewhere in across continents. Changes in livelihoods, cultural practices, technology transfer, and shifts in the nature of family and intimate relationships, have combined to make transitions to adulthood more diverse, complex and unequal than in previous generations. The negative impact on these developments needs governments to respond efficiently and effectively to the needs of young people. The changing experiences of youth has contributed to the transformation in ways of thinking about and organizing services and programs for young people. As out lined in the Commonwealth Youth Policy, The UNESCO, the National Youth Policies and the Youth Chatters all advocate for the participation and embracing the rights of young people as key elements of the world development equation. For example, the African Youth Chatter does not only provide the Governments, Youth, and Civil Society and International Partners with continental framework, which underpins the rights, duties, and freedoms of youth. It also paves the way for development of national programs and strategic plans for youth empowerment. However, Africa Governments have had challenges to meeting all the needs of young people due to numerous factors. These factors arise from such influences as changes in the political landscape, inadequate human resources, inadequate resources to reach all the needs of young people, corruption and many others. Young people have continued to lead impoverished livelihoods. The situation of young people is a breathing social volcano that will soon or later explode to an uncontrollable scale. Africa Speaks is determined to contribute to African Governments strategies to engage young people in productive programs that will use Art and Cultural promotions as a vehicle to sustainability and uplifting the African spirit of belonging and existence. The promotion of MOVING ARTS will review the untold story of Africa. THE PROJECT

Re: Mt Kilimanjaro Live Your Dream, GAAB & Africa day Pan African Climb 19-27 May 2023

"There is only one thing stronger than all armies of the world and that is an idea whose time has come" Victor Hugo.

We as Afrika Speaks under one of our project, called The Great African Art Banner (GAAB) a project that was endorsed and adopted by AU as one of AU Agenda 2063 flagship project for Aspiration 5&6. (Arts and Culture)

We are climbing Mt Kilimanjaro the highest free standing mountain in the world to celebrate Africa day on Friday 25th May 2023 (AU@60) by taking
√ 55+1 Art Painting to Uhuru Peak to officially Launch GAAB, a 56km of Visions, dreams, innovations, intelligence, creativity, imaginations, ideas, inner wishes of the Africa we want.
√ To take the 55 African flags and the diaspora the roof of Africa.
√ To take Africa we want torch to Uhuru Peak and also to light 56 well branded candles.
√ To release 56,000 balloons signifying the minimum number of dreams we need in Africa and the diaspora.
√ Have AU@60 cake, cut and eaten in the clouds.

√ Visual Artists will be painting as the will be climbing up the mountain and they will also paint at Uhuru Peak.

We want everything to be streamed Live for 7days and we want to reach to at least 800,000,000 African young people. How can we do that?

As dreamers and visual artists will be climbing, trekking their dreams and the Africa they want, African young people will be sending messages, audios and videos of
1) The Africa they don't want.
2) The Africa they want.
3) Their gifts and talents because we want to have an electronic database for Africa gifts and talents.

There is no good idea that cannot be improved. Meanwhile we are still looking for climbers across Africa. From each country we want one visionary with a Pan African vision/dream and to visual artists (male and female)

We are also looking for unemployed graduates who are social media experts (volunteer experts) at least 2 per country.
