Currently reading Early Indians by Tony Joseph—an eye-opening account of how migrations over thousands of years shaped India. A powerful reminder that diversity has always been at the core of its identity.

It’s not your typical story but a collection of short pieces inspired by Neil Gaiman’s Sandman universe. Each author adds their own voice, and yet it all feels like stepping back into Morpheus’ world of dreams and shadows.

What struck me most was how different writers imagined Dream — sometimes powerful, sometimes fragile, but always mysterious. It reminded me that the Dreaming isn’t just a place, it’s a reflection of how we each carry stories inside us.

If you’ve ever loved the original Sandman comics, this anthology feels like opening a door back into that realm — familiar but full of new surprises.

Currently reading The Last Prince of Bengal and I’m amazed at how richly detailed it is. It tells the story of the Nawab of Bengal’s descendants—once rulers of immense wealth and power—who were gradually stripped of their kingdom and forced to navigate life under the British Raj and beyond. Reading about their fall from royalty to obscurity is both fascinating and heartbreaking.

What struck me most is how vividly it captures not just politics, but the human side—the struggles of identity, exile, and trying to find a place in a changing world. It reminded me why I first fell in love with reading about India years ago. This book has reawakened that old curiosity, and I can already see myself diving into more histories of India again soon.

Just finished Billion Dollar Whale — and wow, what a ride. It’s the unbelievable true story of the 1MDB scandal, showing how one man, Jho Low, managed to pull off one of the biggest financial heists in history. The book dives into how he fooled Hollywood, Wall Street, and even governments, funding a lifestyle of superyachts, private jets, luxury parties, and blockbuster movie deals—all with money that wasn’t his.

This scandal revealed just how fragile and corruptible global financial systems can be. If you’re into true crime, finance, politics, or just stories that sound too outrageous to be real, this one is a must-read.

Loving how this book stack looks next to me. There’s just something satisfying about seeing history lined up like this—from India under British rule, to big-picture human origins, to Egypt and the Middle East. So many stories, perspectives, and lessons packed into these spines.

Last week’s Amazon book haul and I couldn’t be more excited! Already diving into some great reads. One more book is on its way next week. Can’t wait to share my thoughts once I’ve started them all.

A special thanks to Christine May Aragon for John Romer’s Volume 3—can’t wait to get into it! 😍

The story starts off as an adventure—kids stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash—but it quickly becomes so much more. Golding masterfully explores how quickly societal norms can break down, how fear and power struggles can take over, and how fragile civilization really is.

What struck me the most was how each character represents different aspects of human nature: the instinct to lead, the desire for order, the pull of savagery, and the struggle between morality and self-interest. It’s both fascinating and unsettling to see how quickly things unravel when rules and authority disappear.

Even though the book was first published in 1954, its themes feel timeless. It makes you question the nature of humanity, leadership, and how we balance reason with instinct.

It’s a classic adventure tale set in 18th-century Scotland, following young David Balfour as he’s betrayed, kidnapped, and thrown into a journey full of danger, loyalty, and survival. What I love most is how Stevenson mixes real history with gripping storytelling—you get clan rivalries, treacherous plots, and the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands all in one.

It’s a timeless reminder that even in the darkest twists of fate, courage and friendship can steer the way forward.

The book uncovers how some of Germany’s richest and most powerful families built their wealth during the Third Reich—profiting from forced labor, looted companies, and close ties with the N**i regime. What’s even more shocking is how many of these family names are still behind global brands we see every day, yet their dark pasts are often hidden or glossed over.

It’s a tough but important read—reminding us how history, power, and money are often deeply intertwined.

Lost count of how many times I’ve read this book. Still an adventure every single time!
