This year marks 15-years of species conservation and our journey has been marked with dedication and significant contributions to global conser- vation efforts which has been nothing short of remarkable. We started with a vision to establish a robust global conservation funder. In June, 15 years ago, the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund pledged its allegiance to conservation globally by funding 22 projects. By the end of our inaugural year, we had committed nearly USD 2 million across over 130 projects. Since then, our efforts have only grown, culminating in USD 25.7 million allocated, aiding 2,742 grantees across 174 countries and es- tablishing partnerships with 1,516 conservation allies.

The 18th edition of Al Dhafra Festival under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and organised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the festival highlights the camel mazayna season.


The UAE’s flagship celebration of Bedouin traditions is on its last chapter in Al Dhafra region, offering a spectacular showcase of Emirati sporting and cultural heritage. The festival celebrates three iconic symbols of Bedouin life: the camel, a vital lifeline in the desert long before the oil era, the falcon, an in- dispensable hunting companion for survival in the harsh desert, and the Arabian saluki, a loyal hound and trusted protector of the Bedouins.

An event not to be missed along with a visit to the majestic dunes of the Al Dhafra region.
The festival runs until January 30, 2025.
