A Decade With U 🇦🇪

I found myself in a castle-like hotel in Oman, waiting for my residence visa so I could start a new life in the UAE. That was 10 years ago. I never planned to stay this long, but this nation embraced me, nurtured me, and has been so generous to me and my family through the years.

I’m beyond grateful to call this place home now. And whether God leads me somewhere else in the future, the UAE will always be home in my heart.

I’ve missed our convos - from the super mundane to the deeply personal the next minute. Classic Hannah-Ja moments. It’s comforting to know that no matter the distance or the time that’s passed, our friendship remains special through the years. Thank you for letting me witness a union so special, a love so genuine, a family in the making. Borrowing Tito Tony’s words — it’s not every day that we get to see the person you admire, respect, and root for finally marry the love of their life.

It took a while, but it was never delayed nor rushed. When it came, it was under God’s perfect timing. As they say, “when you know, you know” — locked in and never left, sealed with a ring into forever.

In the short time I got to spend with you both, I can truly say you belong together. A strong, independent woman who decides her vibe finally met a dependable, loving man. As one of her sisters living on the other side of the world, knowing my unnie married such a man gives me peace and joy. I don’t have to worry because I know you’re in good hands. 🤗
