I really hope this is true. I believe the UAE Government could consider implementing a minimum base salary of at least AED 5,000–6,000 for workers who are not provided with accommodation by their employers.

Many low-income workers are struggling with the rising cost of rent. A studio cost around AED 2,000–2,500, which can be difficult to afford when someone earns only around AED 2,000 per month. As a result, many are left with no choice but to live in shared accommodation, where a bed space or shared room can still cost around AED 800–1,000.

Beyond accommodation, they still need to cover food, transportation, daily necessities, and, for many, financial support for their families back home.

I also hope there can be stricter consideration of salary and accommodation arrangements when residency visas are issued for workers. This is not meant as criticism, but rather as a suggestion for the well-being and dignity of everyone working and living in the UAE.

Just sharing my thoughts and hoping that the challenges faced by lower-income expatriate workers can continue to be heard and considered. 🇦🇪❤️
