The Hidden Room
Sophie’s heels clicked softly against the hardwood floor of the old library, the scent of aged books mingling with the faint musk of rain outside. Her fiancé, Daniel, was at home, likely asleep, trusting her excuse of a late-night research session. But Sophie wasn’t here for books. She was here for Caleb, the librarian who’d been stealing her glances—and her restraint—for weeks.
They’d flirted in whispers over dusty shelves, their fingers brushing as they reached for the same tome. Tonight, though, Caleb had left a note: Meet me in the archive room. Midnight. Her heart raced as she pushed open the heavy door, the dim light casting shadows over rows of forgotten manuscripts.
Caleb was there, his glasses slightly askew, his shirt sleeves rolled up to reveal forearms that made Sophie’s breath catch. “You came,” he said, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down her spine. She didn’t answer with words—her lips found his, urgent and hungry, the taste of him like forbidden wine.
His hands slid to her waist, pulling her closer, the heat of his body a stark contrast to the cool air. She tugged at his shirt, buttons giving way as her fingers explored the hard planes of his chest. Caleb’s touch was deliberate, tracing the curve of her neck, her collarbone, igniting a fire she hadn’t felt in years. The archive room, with its musty secrets, became their sanctuary, the world beyond fading to a distant hum.
They moved as if choreographed, her back against a wooden table, papers scattering to the floor. Her skirt rode up, his hands finding the softness of her thighs, their breaths mingling in gasps and whispers. The thrill of betrayal heightened every sensation—the scratch of his stubble, the press of his hips, the way his eyes held hers, daring her to let go.
But as their rhythm peaked, a sharp noise cut through—a creak from the hallway. Sophie froze, her heart slamming against her ribs. Caleb’s hand stilled on her skin, his eyes darting to the door. “Daniel?” she whispered, panic flooding her. The library was supposed to be empty, but the sound of footsteps grew closer. Her betrayal, once a delicious secret, now threatened to unravel everything.
is it real?❤️
