As we approach the final episode of Season One of The Post Production Podcast, I want to take a moment to take a deep breath, and say thank you.

These last few months, this ‘season’ has been incredible. I have so enjoyed laying the foundations of the podcast… for you, for Post Script, and for the kinds of conversations we want to keep having with women navigating life and business in a place that may feel unfamiliar.

But like any good business (or podcast), growth can come from space and time to regroup and relearn to focus. So I’ll be taking a short summer break… not to rest, but to refill the well.

Over the next couple of months, I’ll be:

✔️Reading what you’re reading
✔️Exploring new ideas
✔️Researching what you’re searching for

So we can all come back in September with deeper insights, better questions, and even more useful tools.

If you suffer from Chronic Discount Reflex, you’re in good company.

So many people I speak to, including myself, have experience with this affliction. But there is good news. The more you push through the knee jerk reaction to lower the worth of your services, the less you’ll be affected by it.

Just like going to the gym and lifting weights or doing squats for the first few times hurts like it’s nobody’s business, suppressing that feeling to “sweeten the deal to close the deal” will hurt at first.

Notice, then take a pause when it surfaces.

Remember all the ingredients that go into your rates.

When you worry about what you charge, go back to your Google Reviews, or your DMs. I guarantee that you'll find words in there that validate the worth of what you charge. Things like 'peace of mind', 'feeling like a million bucks', 'you've given us memories to keep forever', etc.

None of those feelings appear on your invoice, yet they’re the reason people are happy to pay it.

So before you round your price down “just in case,” read the words they’ve already gifted you. Let them remind you that your work is solving a problem and sparking a feeling... and the right customer is willing to invest in both.
