WHEN A PEOPLE RISE TO HONOUR THEIR ROOTS, HISTORY IS MADE

In a world that often forgets where it came from, the Bakossi people are choosing remembrance. From the 27th to the 30th of August 2025, Tombel will not just host an event, it will become a sacred ground of cultural awakening as the maiden edition of the Bakossi Festival of Arts and Culture (BAFAC) unfolds. Under the distinguished patronage of H.E. Elung Paul Che, Minister and Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency, this gathering marks a pivotal moment for a tribe rich in history, tradition, and unshakable pride.

The identity is one carved in strength, spirit, and heritage. At BAFAC, it will be on full display, from traditional music, symbolic dances, and storytelling sessions to exhibitions of indigenous crafts and heritage. Every detail of this festival has been thoughtfully curated to reflect who we are without diluting what we stand for. This is not a space for cultural performance. It is a sacred space for cultural preservation.

Beyond the rhythm and movement, BAFAC will present an authentic feast for the senses. Our delicacies will not just be eaten, they will be remembered. From the rich texture of Esuba to the soul-satisfying taste of Kpangkpalang, our food tells stories that words cannot contain. Our artifacts, woven baskets, locally carved tools, and traditional attire will serve as visual reminders that craftsmanship and culture have always walked hand in hand in Bakossi land.

This is not a nostalgic trip into the past. It is a bold reintroduction of who we are and what we represent. As the world watches, the Bakossi people will remind everyone that culture is not entertainment. It is power. It is healing. It is identity. And in celebrating it, we give ourselves permission to dream again, not as scattered voices, but as a united people with vision and value.

At the forefront of this bold cultural movement is Scandic Vibes Entertainment, the powerhouse leading the coordination and production of BAFAC. Their vision is clear, to create a festival that does not just gather a people but uplifts a legacy. For creatives, entrepreneurs, sponsors, and cultural enthusiasts, this is more than an invitation. It is an opportunity to align with purpose and be part of something generational. Exhibition stands, advert slots, and sponsorships are open. Those who understand the weight of cultural investment are encouraged to take part.

As a proud Bakossi writer and advocate, this festival is not just important, it is necessary. Cultural preservation is not a favour we do for our ancestors. It is a responsibility we owe to our future. BAFAC is that responsibility in action. Tombel is ready. The Bakossi spirit is alive. The only question is, will you be there to witness history? IF YES, THEN SEE YOU IN TOMBEL!! ❤️

Wishing a project/program should fail simply because you were excluded from it is a special kind of witchcraft 👌👌👌
