If you see this, this is a sign to slow down, reflect, and rest.

As an OFW in Dubai, I’ve always believed that sacrificing for my family back home is part of the job. But in doing so, I often forget about myself, my health and my peace of mind. I’ve set those aside, thinking ‘may panahon pa para diyan’.

But what if there isn’t?

Getting sick reminded me that I am human. That I need rest too. That I cannot pour from an empty cup. And that it’s okay to pause, breathe, and heal because my well-being matters just as much as anyone else’s.

To my fellow OFWs: this is your reminder that your life is just as important as your responsibility. Love your family, yes, but don’t forget to love yourself too. Magsakripisyo kung kailangan, pero huwag kalimutang alagaan ang sarili. Dahil ang tunay na tagumpay ay hindi lang ang makapagpadala ng pera kundi ang makauwi ng buo, malusog sa katawan, at payapa ang loob. 😷
