Reflecting on friendships lately…
There came a point where I stopped reaching out to people because I noticed I was the only one initiating, planning, and making time.
Friendship is a two-way street. It’s not about who’s there only when they’re going through something.
I’ve found myself absorbing people’s negative emotions just because I care but if that becomes the pattern, it’s exhausting.
I go through tough times too, but I choose to process them quietly rather than turning every hangout into a vent session.
I want my meetups to be filled with good vibes, laughter, and genuine connection. Of course, we can be there for each other but not all the time at the cost of joy.
Living alone has taught me that solitude isn’t always sad. Sometimes, it’s better than being surrounded by people who don’t reciprocate your energy.
I’ve embraced doing things on my own. Yes, it’s lonely at times but it’s also freeing. 😊
