The Egypt you didn’t know.
The first time I visited Cairo was in 2010, and I visited all the classic tourist places: sailed on the Nile, saw the pyramids, wandered through the markets. It’s a city that, in recent years, has called me back. I find peace there (don’t ask me why).
This last trip was meant to recharge and to visit my dear friend Hadia. With her, I discovered a Cairo I had never known before; one where people dine in cosy cafés in Maadi, where local designers have built a vibrant community, where you find hidden cafés behind beautiful doors in Zamalek… and, of course, the stories from a friend who grew up there, making every corner feel even more special.
