An Indian colleague gave me “idli” today which I paired with the coconut chutney homemade by her also.

“Idli” is a popular Indian breakfast that is very similar to our “p**ong bigas” in the Philippines. It is made from steaming fermented rice and lentil batter and could be just plain or made with other spices.

Though we prefer a bit of sweetness on our p**o, idli is a little bland for our taste buds. It’s the dipping sauce, which is either the chutney or sambar that gives a savoury flavour and texture to it.

The coconut chutney that she gave me has curry leaves, mustard seeds and a bit of chilli for a kick and spice.

Bu Qtair Restaurant is one of the famous seafood restaurants in Dubai located in Umm Suqeim. Said to be founded in 1980s and become a popular dining spot since then.

With very simple indoor dining and outdoor area with a view of the marina, this old time favorite place serves fresh seafoods that you will really love.

All you have to do is to choose your fish and weigh your shrimps, order your rice and drinks, pay and that’s it! That’s how simple it goes. They will cook it for you and serve it with a signature sauce and fresh salads.

Simply served and yet well loved by residents and even by tourists for its fresh and delicious fish and shrimps.

Unang sabak namin sa Chibog Restaurant. 😋 Lahat masarap but the star of the feast is the fall-off-the-bones BBQ Beef Ribs nila.

What we had :
🐟 Daing na Bangus
🍝 Pancit Bihon
🦑 Calamares
🥩 Sinigang na Baka
🍝 Lomi
✨ BBQ Beef Ribs

This order was for 5 persons but still had a lot to take home. 👍🏼

Not an exaggeration but the first time I saw Daraga Church, it is indeed a breathtaking moment. Yung hindi mo talaga mapipigilan na magsabi ng “Woowww”. 😁

The splendid structure of the church, the view of the gorgeous Mayon Volcano and the perfect blue sky show a very wonderful landscape that anyone would surely wish to see.

One of the best things to do in Chinatown is to shop at street markets. You can bargain on most of the items and prices are no doubt cheaper compared to other stores.

Dahi Puri was one of my cravings when I was pregnant 11 years ago and became part of my “appetite” since then.

It is an Indian snack that originates from Mumbai. “Dahi” means yogurt and “Puri” is the hollow crispy fried puffs or shells.

These hollow shells are stuffed mainly with boiled potatoes (and boiled chickpea or bundi) topped with yogurt and crispy fried gram noodles. Others prefer to have it also with vegetables like beans, tomatoes and onions.

The green and tamarind chutney drizzled on top add spicy and tangy flavour to this dish and garnishing with chopped cilantro and promegranate adds color and texture too.

A pinch of some spices of your choice like cu**in, masala and ground red chillies will be a choice as well.

Just had this yesterday at Bombay Chowpatty at Dubai Hills Mall. Cravings satisfied! 😋
