Producer and Director Shehzad Hameed Ahmad went live on CNA’s Asia First to discuss our upcoming investigative documentary “Vapours of Death” that airs on October 13th where we expose the illicit world of drugs laced vapes, as criminal syndicates infiltrate them with synthetic drugs like spice, etomidate, ketamine, cannabis to even liquid co***ne. We traversed Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the United Kingdom to understand how young users are being lured with sweet flavours and false claims into this dark word, transforming once healthy teenagers into drug addicts. We met rehab workers, healthcare professionals, legal experts, victims and their families to expose this lack of awareness and their devastating long-term health effects of va**ng. Despite tight border controls and stringent laws, the production and smuggling of drug laced cartridges have steadily increased and with it, the consequences too. As demand grows, and supply chains getting creative, Vapours of Death is a timely reminder of how serious this crisis is and why drug syndicates are targeting a new and younger generation.
