Umahi: Igbo Will Produce Nigeria’s President, But Not in 2027

Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has said that although the South-East will one day produce Nigeria’s President, it won’t happen in the 2027 elections. He called on the Igbo people to support President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition instead.

Umahi made this known while reacting to an online report titled “The Politics of Asphalt: Why is the South East Missing from the Map?”, which he described as false and misleading. According to him, the article wrongly tries to paint Tinubu’s government as ignoring the South-East in terms of infrastructure.

He said some people are using politics to mislead the public and make themselves look like heroes, while ignoring the major road and infrastructure projects going on across the country under Tinubu’s leadership.

The former governor of Ebonyi State also said he has asked regional directors in the Ministry of Works to visit project sites and report on both old and new projects. This, he said, will help Nigerians see the massive development work being done under Tinubu, no matter who each region voted for.

Umahi insisted that President Tinubu is promoting unity by making sure all regions benefit from federal projects. “Only those who open their eyes will see the good changes happening in Nigeria,” he added.

Soludo Hints at Creating More LGAs in Anambra, Says Obosi Deserves Its Own

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, while speaking during his campaign visit to Obosi, said the community is supposed to be the 22nd Local Government Area in Anambra State.

He acknowledged that Obosi is a large and significant area, and promised to engage the Anambra State House of Assembly to look into the possibility of making it a full-fledged LGA.

According to the Governor, “Obosi is supposed to be a local government. I will discuss with the State House of Assembly to see what we can do.”

Soludo also assured the people of Anambra that if given a second term, the projects and developments seen in his first term will be nothing compared to what he has planned for his next four years in office.

“I Will Not Be Bullied Into Silence” – Onyi Nwa Imo Fires Back at Okwuluora's Blind Followers

To those flooding my inbox with insults simply because I raised questions about Okwuluora’s alleged kidnap—may thunder strike you for supporting ignorance over accountability.

Let me make this clear: Okwuluora is like a younger brother to me. I was doing charity with my own hard-earned money long before he came into the social media space. I have consistently contributed to almost every charitable cause he posted on his page—he knows this very well. But that doesn’t mean I will turn a blind eye when he says or does something questionable.

You people expect us to keep quiet when he comes online to claim that kidnappers emptied his bank account in Ụmụaka? Do you know how many people have paid him money for one business or the other? As someone who brought this matter to the public domain, is it not reasonable for him to publish his bank statements to clarify where the supposed ransom money went—especially if it was paid through a POS, as he claimed?

Instead of seeking clarity, some of you are blindly defending him. Is it now right for him to tell people to stop visiting Ụmụaka and Orlu simply because he claims he was kidnapped there? By that logic, should people also stop going to Enugu or Anambra where similar incidents have happened? That’s not just wrong—it’s reckless.

Let it be known: I am not someone you can bully into silence. I am ready for any of you who think I should shut up. Okwuluora must come clean. He must make his bank statements public to support his claim of being kidnapped and paying ransom in Ụmụaka.
