The first-ever Value Engineering Summit was held on September 5, 2018 at the Habtoor Grand Hotel in JBR, with 200 construction professionals attending the exclusive event, which focused on how value engineering can make a considerable difference to the construction industry.
Value Engineering has emerged as a divisive issue in the regional construction industry, with advocates and doubters sparring over its viability when it comes to reducing costs, improving efficiencies and increasing effectiveness on projects.
This was on display at the Value Engineering Summit 2018, as panellists, delegates and speakers debated and defined the various facets of value engineering, working to create a clear understanding of what it can offer the construction industry.
Hosted by Sameer Daoud, CEO of MECIC Contracting, the event was attended by several high-profile industry members, including members of government bodies, international consultants and regional contractors, while the keynote addressed was delivered by Dr Rashid Alleem, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority.
