A fake degree could cost you three years in jail.

UAE courts have handed down prison terms of up to three years and fines reaching AED 30,000 in cases involving forged academic qualifications. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research says suspected criminal cases will be referred to the relevant authorities.

Could El Niño mean more rain for the UAE this autumn?

The climate phenomenon is expected to remain through February 2027, with its influence potentially becoming more noticeable in the UAE during October and November. NCM says it may increase moisture and rainfall chances, but local weather conditions will ultimately determine what happens.

A WhatsApp message turned into an AED 15,000 legal bill.

An Abu Dhabi woman was ordered to pay AED 5,000 in compensation after insulting and threatening a man through WhatsApp. She had already received an AED 10,000 criminal fine for the same conduct and was barred from accessing the information network for three months.

A journey through 13.8 billion years, now on display in Abu Dhabi.

Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi in Saadiyat Cultural District, where he was briefed on its immersive experience.

The museum explores the history of the universe, Earth and life through fossils, meteorites, interactive exhibits and advanced technology.

Nearly AED 100 million, and the settlement comes with a clause that extends beyond death.

The Abu Dhabi Civil Family Court approved a full financial settlement in which the wife keeps properties across several countries, a supercar, jewellery and watches, and receives more than AED 40 million in cash. The worldwide agreement prevents either former spouse from bringing further financial claims against the other, including against their estates after death.

Less homework, new assessment rules and tighter digital guidelines.

The UAE’s 2026–27 school year brings several changes for students and parents, including no traditional homework from Kindergarten to Grade 2, expanded Arabic assessments, new digital tool rules for Grade 6 and a 50:50 assessment split for Cycle 3.

School fees in Abu Dhabi just got a little more flexible for parents.

ADEK now requires private schools to offer at least three equal tuition instalments, with schools allowed to offer up to 10. Parents using eligible second hand textbooks, uniforms or devices can also be exempt from those related fees.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is officially going ahead this December.

F1 has confirmed the season finale will take place at Yas Marina Circuit from December 3 to 6. The confirmation means fans can now move ahead with their travel and accommodation plans, with limited tickets still available.
