A sculptural addition to Abu Dhabi’s evolving skyline.

Designed by Killa Design, Jumeirah Residences Al Maryah Island introduces a new vision for branded living, where fluid forms, hospitality-inspired experiences, and a façade shaped by light come together on the waterfront.

Rising 186 metres above Al Maryah Island, the tower moves beyond conventional residential architecture, embracing terraces, sky gardens, and a design language that responds to its coastal setting. The result is an architectural landmark that balances expression, materiality, and lifestyle.

Stepping into at truly feels like entering one of Dubai’s most spectacular dining destinations. I had the great pleasure of visiting recently and was incredibly impressed by the entire experience, from the beautifully considered interior design and atmosphere to the impeccable service and exceptional food.

The space itself is a masterclass in contemporary hospitality design, balancing warmth, texture and refined detailing to create an immersive setting that feels both elegant and inviting. Every element has been carefully curated, making the restaurant as visually captivating as the cuisine itself.

A true spectacle and architectural feat, visiting the has been an incredible experience and one I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to explore firsthand.

One of the region’s most exciting cultural destinations, the museum combines extraordinary architecture with immersive, educational experiences that feel both inspiring and accessible for all ages. From its striking design to the scale of its exhibitions, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression and offers something for everyone.

I’ve created two new features for Martyn White UAE, one exploring the museum’s architecture and design, and another focused on the visitor experience and what to expect when visiting.

Located within , the concept by Alia Khalid Abdulghaffar redefines the farm-to-table experience through architecture shaped by landscape, ritual, and thoughtful storytelling.

Designed by British architect , the space unfolds through rhythmic arches, sculpted earthen forms, and a living central tree that anchors the interior. Soft textures and natural tones invite a slower pace, while the curated retail corner adds another layer to the journey.

Part café, part gallery, part contemporary souk, it introduces a calm and grounded design language for the UAE’s next generation of hospitality spaces.

The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi is one of the most compelling new additions to Saadiyat Cultural District, designed by Mecanoo as a sculptural response to geology, landscape, and the story of the universe itself.

More than a museum, the project reflects how Abu Dhabi continues to invest in architecture as culture, identity, and global influence.

From layered desert-inspired forms to immersive interiors, this is a building that places narrative at the centre of design.

At .contemporary in , We Walk on Stories by .alaaed, curated by Lina Mikati, unfolds as a study in memory, place, and emotional geography.

A series of abstracted cartographies drawn from the ongoing Cities series, where maps are stripped of borders and names, leaving only what cannot be measured, longing, loss, belonging. These are not depictions of land, but of experience; not routes, but traces.

Iron, stone, clay, wood, and pigment become carriers of lived terrain, absorbing movement, erosion, and time. Each work feels like a fragment of a place once known or still being searched for.

Here, mapping becomes emotional rather than geographic. We are reminded that we are all, in some way, walking stories.
