“I AM THAT I AM” what it means:

The phrase “I AM THAT I AM” appears in Exodus 3:14, when Moses asks God for His name at the burning bush. God answers:

“I AM THAT I AM.” And He said, “Say this to the children of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.” — Exodus 3:14

This is one of the most mysterious and profound declarations in all of scripture, and it carries layers of meaning far deeper than a name:

The Divine Presence Within

Mystics and spiritual teachers across centuries have understood this phrase as pointing not only to God’s nature but to the essence within us.

The same “I AM” that spoke from the bush is the same awareness that speaks when you say, “I am.”
