UK REMOVES ‘DO NOT TRAVEL’ ADVICE FOR THE UAE 🇦🇪🇬🇧

The British Foreign Office has updated its travel guidance, dropping the previous advice against travel to the UAE following a reassessment of the regional situation. (June 18)

The move is expected to boost confidence among travelers and supports the continued recovery of tourism and business travel between the UK and the Emirates.

The UAE remains one of the most popular destinations for British visitors, with strong demand across both leisure and business travel sectors.

Most people thought this was just another Emirates flight… it wasn’t.

This was the very first Emirates Airbus A350 flight in December 2024, with some of the first passengers departing on an Emirates A350 before its official scheduled service even began.

Rather than operating its first scheduled route, the aircraft was being used for a special crew familiarization flight between Dubai and Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

The flight allowed Emirates crews to gain real-world experience before the airline’s official A350 launch to Edinburgh.

I took the turnaround flight and got to be part of a unique moment in Emirates history before regular A350 operations began.

American Airlines Flight 2140 experienced a cockpit access issue while on the ground, leaving both pilots unable to re-enter the flight deck.

Maintenance crews resolved the situation by accessing the cockpit through a flight deck window before reopening the door from inside.

The issue was successfully resolved, and the flight later continued as scheduled.

QANTAS CONFIRMS FIRST PROJECT SUNRISE FLIGHT ✈️

Qantas has officially confirmed Sydney–London as the first route for its Project Sunrise program.

The non-stop service is scheduled to launch in late 2027 and will be operated by specially configured Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

Once launched, passengers will be able to fly directly between Sydney and London without a transit stop, making it one of the longest commercial flights in the world.

Qantas says Project Sunrise is designed to connect Australia with major global cities through ultra-long-haul non-stop flights, with additional destinations expected to follow.

Starting 19 June 2026, flights EK416 and EK417 will resume operations, restoring Emirates’ Sydney schedule to its pre-adjustment frequency of three daily services.
