Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood in Abir Gulaal was likely a welcome opportunity after his hiatus. However, despite his and Vaani Kapoor’s compelling performances, the film’s three-hour runtime and underdeveloped storyline proved challenging. Their acting was the main reason to sit through it.
Parmeet Sethi’s role offered a nostalgic nod to DDLJ, a pleasant but brief highlight. Ultimately, Abir Gulaal underscores that even strong star power cannot overcome a weak script. A compelling storyline remains crucial for cinematic success.
