Chicago called 📞
The design world picked up.

2026 runs 8 to 10 June at The Mart, with 400+ brands across furniture, flooring, lighting, fabrics, and tech, plus Illuminate, a brand new show-within-a-show dedicated entirely to lighting. Across town, Fulton Market Design Days brings a more neighbourhood-feel energy with showrooms from Arper, Punt, KI, Sancal, MillerKnoll, and more, under the theme Work That Feels Good.

Between the two, over 50,000 architects, designers, and specifiers are expected.

Clerkenwell Design Week had plenty to look at. The better question was: what made people stay?

By mid-week, the pace across EC1 had shifted. The strongest moments were not always the biggest installations or the busiest showrooms, but the spaces that made people slow down, look closer, and linger a little longer.

Workplace design softened. Materials became more atmospheric. Colour, acoustics, craft, and reuse moved beyond surface treatment into something more human.

No main stage. No keynote. No single moment everyone is definitely there for.

Just three days of productive disorientation across EC1. A showroom inside a church. A square with a terrazzo fountain that was not there last week. An ice cream van celebrating a Red Dot award. Snøhetta talking process on a Thursday, if you can find the room.

600+ events. 15 years in. Still one of the best three days on the design calendar.
