Love That Design

Love That Design We open the door to interesting content for designers and architects. Explore Love That Design.

Love That Design is a publication platform for interior design projects, but it is also so much more! An extension of the platform, Love That Design Community is a central design directory. We feature information/data about projects on our website, and interlink it with its stakeholders’ pages i.e., the products and companies who have worked on it. This makes it easier for you to get these details

instantly without having to bounce from website to website, thereby seamlessly connecting end users with potential customers.

Named after one of the world’s most iconic diamonds, the interior translates ideas of clarity, weight, and precision into architectural form.

Designed by the space relies on bold geometry, controlled lighting, and tactile materials to create a dining environment that feels deliberate and composed rather than decorative.

Surge 2025 Winners Announced!

This year’s Surge Gala brought the design community together at JW Marriott in Dubai Marina for another edition of Design, Dine, Make a Difference. The theme, Broken Beautiful, asked studios to work with flaws, fragments and reclaimed materials to create something with purpose. Firms across the UAE responded with ideas that were experimental, honest and rooted in reuse.

Here are the pieces that stood out this year:
SAY Studio · Overall Winner and Most Sustainable
Nesmah, made from reclaimed sail fabric, linked material reuse with the UAE’s maritime heritage.

AAID - Allen Architecture Interiors Design · People’s Choice, Master Craftsman, Most Impactful
Alara, built from shattered glass and reclaimed metal, kept every fragment visible in resin.

DESIGN MATTER · Peer Choice and Practical Excellence
ReSeat, crafted from reclaimed plywood, offered a multifunctional seat-table with a built-in chessboard.

Interspace Interiors · Highly Commended
Wevo used discarded fabric swatches and laminate samples to create a modular bench inspired by local weaving.

The Soch Collective · Most Innovative
Moss & Memory treated broken surfaces as spaces for natural regrowth.

Al Tayer Stocks - Building & Interior Divisions · Cause-Aligned
Sacred Knots turned reclaimed furniture into a community piece where visitors tied fabric knots.

Eire Gulf · Best Storyteller
Starry Night interpreted the ADHD experience through 3D-printed recycled PLA.

Surge 2025 once again highlighted how much creativity and care this community brings each year, all while supporting Surge’s ongoing safe-water initiatives. 39,784 people were directly impacted by Surge for Water’s guest contribution last year!

carried a different rhythm this year.

Jazeera Paints shaped a quiet moment in the district, where raw textures, grounded colours and hand-applied finishes invited designers to reconnect with materials up close. The stand became a place to pause, touch and imagine how surfaces can shift the character of a room.

Expect a closer look at how designers experienced the week, why Jazeera Paints’ surfaces drew such attention, and how craft and culture shaped the mood across the district. It is a study of materiality, community and the new language of design in the region.

The next shift in design isn’t what you think. Our latest LTD Talk brought Jon Blakeney and Shireen El Khatib together with Siddharth Peters for a conversation that quietly challenged how the room thinks about space, emotion and purpose. A glimpse into why people now expect places to connect with them, not just function around them.

When designers engage, reflect, and share, innovation grows stronger.

These moments remind us why collaboration and curiosity are at the heart of design.
A journey of learning, exchange, and inspiration, one story at a time.

Sometimes the most meaningful insights come from simple questions. We asked designers to share their thoughts: on the tour, on creativity, and on what inspires them.

Because every perspective adds another layer to the design community.

Join the journey.

Design education comes alive when it steps out of the classroom.

Through the Academia Design Tour, students explored six immersive brand experiences where creativity meets craftsmanship. From hands-on workshops to interactive demos, every stop offered insight into real-world design thinking and innovation.

They discovered the artistry behind products, the intention behind materials, and the vision shaping the future of design.
This tour isn’t just about seeing, it’s about experiencing how design solves, inspires, and connects.

Our Story

In case it isn’t obvious yet, we simply love Design in all its glorious forms and functions. Even before we set about creating our platform, there was one thing we knew for sure – there are more like us. The only difference is we all have a different understanding of what great design is which often leads to wide ranging opinions and expectations.

We set about doing what we do best

Using the combined awesomeness of our industry knowledge and digital capabilities, we set about creating a platform that would showcase the best of what the region’s Architecture+Design community has to offer.

From large commercial projects, to home-grown designs, we strive to bring you relevant information on those who help bring these works of art to life. Design consultants, project managers, contractors, manufacturers, photographers and products – we want to make sure you know who’s worked behind the scenes.
