Wild Planet Productions was founded by long time resident in the Gulf region, Jonathan Ali Khan [JAK] and his wife, Jody Anne Rodriguez. After more than 25 years of diving, exploring and filming throughout the Middle East and Indian Ocean, JAK has collected an exciting range of stories and insights into the region’s natural history, the people’s cultural connection to the land and conservation and environmental issues that can form fascinating and unprecedented TV content. Most of our commercial video & film production is focused on the tourism, travel & hospitality sectors, having produced numerous award winning destination films for government authorities and hotels, DMC's and tour companies. JAK is a topside wildlife & underwater cameraman, producer, director and editor with a strong passion for the natural world having worked on a wide range of unique projects in the region and is recognized as an authority on environmental, conservation and diving related issues. His primary interest is in marine subjects that led to the creation of Ocean World Productions in 2003. In 2008, JAK left Ocean World Productions in order to focus entirely on natural history TV development, leading to the recent creation of WPP. A firm believer in the need to place scientific research at the core of well balanced content, JAK has led many joint filming and scientific expeditions into the field, in some cases, allowing researchers into troubled or difficult areas to access. Adding a deep concern for the state of our environment and natural world is at the heart of WPP’s motivation and is at the core of many fascinating TV projects. WPP is registered through the Ras Al Khaimah Media Free Zone and is licensed as a full media production company with a full editing studio in Dubai. WPP caters to all kinds of production requirements and filming formats. A carefully selected team of freelancers are available to build crew requirements when neccessary according to scope of work and scale of projects. With thousands of hours of diving experience, JAK has ventured to all corners of the Arabian Peninsula, diving and filming in every sea surrounding Arabia. Topside, JAK has conducted extensive wildlife expeditions throughout the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Yemen, Saudi Arabia - establishing a strong network of contacts and associates enabling access, filming and research in all areas of the region. All projects developed by WPP are designed to support regional conservation efforts and promote strong educational values in order to create awareness about the natural world we live in.
