Proud Father Moment ❤♟
Some moments arrive quietly and completely disarm you, the kind that make you stop and truly see how fast your child is becoming their own person.
At the African Marketplace here in Dubai, my son, Titobioluwa, had the incredible opportunity to sit across a chessboard from the Guinness World Record holder Tunde Onakoya. I watched him take his seat with a calm, steady confidence far beyond his years, staring at someone the world deeply respects.
As the game unfolded, I caught myself holding my breath, watching him trust his instincts and lean into the moment.
Then Tunde glanced up and said,
“Your son is quite a good player.”
And just like that, something inside me softened. Pride. Gratitude. Wonder. All flooding in at once.
It wasn’t just a chess match.
It was courage, self-belief, and growth unfolding right in front of me.
It reminded me that our children often carry more ability than we give them credit for and when we give them space to explore, they rise in ways that amaze us.
I walked away with a full, grateful heart… thanking God for these small but powerful moments that whisper to a parent:
You’re doing well.
He’s becoming exactly who he’s meant to be.
