CANVAS ISSUE 117: THE MAGHREB ISSUE IS OUT NOW!

Our cover features Tasneem Sarkez’s () ‘High Tea’ (2024), which constructs an image reminiscent of AI-generated pictures that circulate the Arab world. The gilded teacup and its opulent setting encapsulate the rich visuals of the Maghreb, in an irreverent yet oh-so-poignant calling to mind of the region’s depth of history and multi-layered cultures that defy boundaries.

The issue also features Massinissa Selmani (), M’Barek Bouhchichi (), Sharjah Biennial (), Nour Jaouda (.jaouda), MACAAL (), Nidhal Chamekh (.chamekh), Islamic Arts Biennale (), Lilia Ben Salah () and Selma Feriani ()
