to autumn in New York. We had just arrived to the city, my sister was visiting, we were spending the night with one of my besties, and at this particular moment, we were headed to brunch and Open Studios in Brooklyn. There's nothing quite like the energy you feel when you're in NYC! .

to that day we spent roaming around Studio Be in New Orleans. I have an obsession with big art, and this was a four room warehouse full of exactly that. I've never seen anything like it. If you ever have a chance to visit New Orleans, please make time to see this spot. The artist, Brandon "B-mike" Adams, is a New Orleans native and tells the most amazing stories through his political artwork. This is an exhibit not to be missed.

Remembering the time we decided to take a midnight Capital Bikeshare ride thru after spending a whole day in our feelings about the police shooting of in . Feeling the wind on our faces, we found comfort in the metaphor of motion and forward progress. Sometimes, during the dark days, we search for the thing that allows us to take a breath, and on this September night, it was a midnight, self-guided bike tour of our country's monuments, all of them built as a symbol of pride and hope, no doubt. Flawed and hurting, may we all find comfort in the hope for a new day.

Each week we look for a sign that tells us to keep going, that despite our financial uncertainty or the many logistical questions and doubts that pop up daily, we're on the right track, that we're getting there. So far, week after week, that moment continues to come. And so we press on. This week, that sign came in the form of this salacious sensory experience (sight! smell! taste!) from Vimala's Curryblossom Café . We had the chance to discuss the idea of impact and to share a few details about our project with head chef and community member extraordinaire, Vimala herself, who, in the end, covered the cost of our meal. Thank you so much to all who were involved in the making of this delicious feast.
