The Pesticides Toxic Chemicals Board reaffirms their pledge to uphold international standards, protect public health, and safeguard our environment through transparent and informed chemical management.
We’re proud to share that the Pesticides & Toxic Chemicals Control Board (PTCCB) participated in the in person segment of the 12th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention (RC COP 12), held 28 April–9 May 2025 in Geneva—alongside Basel COP 17 and Stockholm COP 12 under the unified theme “Make visible the invisible: sound management of chemicals and wastes”.
We contributed actively to vital discussions on the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) procedure, reinforcing our commitment to responsible trade in hazardous chemicals and pesticides.
Key achievements:
• Supported inclusion of new chemicals and pesticide formulations (carbosulfan and fenthion).) in Annex III, strengthening safeguards for global health and biodiversity.
• Shared insights on national PIC implementation, highlighting our proactive stance in tackling pesticide risks in Antigua and Barbuda
We reaffirm our pledge to uphold international standards, protect public health, and safeguard our environment through transparent and informed chemical management.
