Drivers must:
- Slow down and maintain safe speeds, especially at night
- Look out for pedestrians walking along road edges, near junctions, or crossing the roadway
- Stay alert for horses and other animals near or crossing the road
- Avoid horns or loud noises near animals
- Give ample space when passing pedestrians, riders, or animals
- Be prepared to stop if a pedestrian, rider, or animal appears at risk

- Keep animals properly controlled at all times
- Use reflective equipment at night, especially on major roads
โ ๏ธ NOTE TO ANIMAL OWNERS
Animal owners are reminded that they are legally responsible for keeping animals properly secured and controlled at all times.
Allowing animals to roam freely on public roadways places motorists, pedestrians, riders, and the animals themselves at serious risk.
Owners will be held accountable for collisions or injuries caused by loose or uncontrolled animals.
