Member of International Press Institute, Founding and Board Member of Albanian Ethical Media Alliance, Certified as Independent by the Journalism Trust Initiative created by Reporters Without Borders. Since then, it's evolved to become one of the leading independent voices in the Balkans. Exit is non-profit, independent, and professional. Our team is not censored and is empowered to cover the stor

ies that matter. We were the first media in the Western Balkans to submit to an external independence and professionalism audit facilitated by Reporters Without Borders, UNESCO, the EU, and the Ethical Journalism Network. We passed and are certified. Exit is also a founding member and was elected to the board of the Ethical Media Alliance, Albania's first media self-regulatory platform. We are funded by grants and project work from organisations such as IJE4U, IWMF, KAS, Open Society, and the European Fund for the Western Balkans. Other funding comes from donations from readers via Patreon and Ko-Fi and through work such as translations. We do not want to compromise our independence by allowing advertising or paid articles, nor will we change our editorial line to suit the interests of a business. Exit is an equal opportunities employer and currently functions with an 80% female team. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, s*x, gender, religion, race, or background.
