I am sharing this article creating for some amazing young people from different countries, during the youth exchange in Kosovo related with Erasmus+ programme " Encouraging Minorities and Media".
TRIP TO PRIZREN
We took part in Erasmus plus project which was called Encouraging Minorities and Media. As you can see from the title we had discussed the impact of media on prejudices and stereotypes about minorities in Kosovo, Macedonia, Spain, Albania and Czech republic.
We had opportunity to visit Prizren where is Turkish NGO. For us it was a unforgettable trip because people there are so kind and really tolerant. This NGO has 500 members and we met the CEO of this organization. He told us that this NGO was founded in 1951. He also mentioned that there are 4 official languages in Prizren (Albanian, Turkish, Serbian and English.) He said to us some gossips about him and his family. He is Turkish and married with Bosnian woman, and his sister is married with Albanian man. When his family wants to visit her sister everybody there speaks Albanian. On the other hand then the family of his sister wants to visit them they speak Turkish. As u can see they respect each other even though they are different nationalities who speak different languages.
After this visit we went to the castle it wasn’t easy for us to reach the top because it was so high. But it was definitely worth it because we saw a beautiful view of the city. We took a lot of photos and we decided to go to the restaurant and we had a traditional Prizren food which was very tasty. After that we had a free time to explore the city and we bought a lot of uselessness but very nice things. When the free time was over, we took bus back to Pristina and we had in our hearts great memories with amazing people and we will remember this experience forever.
After this trip we realized that even if every minority is totally different and unique that all of them can live together in peace.
