🇬🇧 Big News from Annecy 2025! 🏆

We’re proud to announce that two armenian stories for animation projects have been awarded during MIFA pitching sessions.

“Playing House” from Armenia has received the BIPTV Prize at the Annecy Mifa Pitches 2025, as part of the newly launched Animated Documentaries section! Directed by Aleksei Ermolaev, “Playing House” is a short animated documentary currently in development, based on the final years of Sergei Parajanov’s life.

The french feature film project " Maryam & Varto" co-directed by Gorune Aprikian and Luciano Lepinay has won the SACD award. It tells the story extraordinary odyssey of two Armenian children through the captivating landscapes of Anatolia. The producers are Tchack and Araprod (France) in coproduction with Studio (Armenia) and BrightLights Films (France)

🎬 «Տուն-Տունիկ» կարճամետրաժ անիմացիոն վավերագրական ֆիլմը արժանացել է BIPTV մրցանակին Անիմացիոն վավերագրական ֆիլմեր նորաբաց անվանակարգում։
Ռեժիսոր՝ Ալեքսեյ Երմոլաև։ Ֆիլմը մշակման փուլում է և հիմնված է Սերգեյ Փարաջանովի կյանքի վերջին տարիների վրա։

🎥 Ֆրանսիական լիամետրաժ նախագիծը՝ «Մարիամը և Վարդոն», որի համառեժիսորներն են Կորիւմ Ափրիկեամ և Լուչիանո Լեպինեն, հաղթել է SACD մրցանակը։
Ֆիլմը պատմում է երկու հայ երեխայի բացառիկ ճամփորդության մասին՝ Անատոլիայի կախարդական բնապատկերների միջով։
Պրոդյուսերներ՝ Tchack և Araprod (Ֆրանսիա)՝ համատեղ արտադրությամբ Studio-ի (Հայաստան) և BrightLights Films-ի (Ֆրանսիա) հետ։

Big News from Annecy! 🏆
We’re proud to announce that “Playing House” has received the BIPTV Prize at the Annecy Mifa Pitches 2025, as part of the newly launched Animated Documentaries section!

The prize includes a pre-sale agreement with BIPTV, a regional broadcaster in central France a wonderful step forward for the project.

Directed by Aleksei Ermolaev, “Playing House” is a short animated documentary currently in development, based on the final years of Sergei Parajanov’s life.

Save the Date!!! Susanna Khachatryan , producer at OnOff studio, will be one of five featured speakers at this year’s Mifa Conference during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. She’ll share her insights on producing animated documentaries that bridge imagination and truth.

This session will explore the creative and logistical challenges of animated documentary filmmaking, from production and direction to training programs and distribution pathways.

Tigran Araqelyan , Co-Founder of OnOff Studio, will be one of three featured speakers at this year’s Mifa Conferences during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

He will present the studio’s experience using VR tools such as Quill and Next Lab Grease Pencil VR in the preproduction and production stages of animation. The session will explore how these innovative technologies are transforming the creative process for artists and how studios can adopt them to enhance production efficiency.

Annecy "Playing House"

Մեր կարճամետրաժ անիմացիոն ֆիլմը՝ «Տուն-տունիկը», ընտրվել է Անսի միջազգային անիմացիոն փառատոնի Mifa Pitches 2025 կինոշուկայի Փաստավավերագրական նոր անվանակարգում։

Ֆիլմը ներկայացնում է Սերգեյ Փարաջանովի կյանքի պատմությունը և նրա կազմակերպած տոնական երեկույթը Թբիլիսիում և հիմնված է Յուրի Մեչիտովի հարցազրույցների վրա։

Ներկայումս ֆիլմը գտնվում է զարգացման փուլում, և արդեն իսկ արժանանում է միջազգային ուշադրության։

Good news!
Our animated short film Playing House has been selected for the Documentary category at the Mifa Pitches 2025, part of the Annecy International Animation Festival.

The film is inspired by the life of Sergei Parajanov and portrays a festive gathering he once hosted in his Tbilisi home. It is based on Yuri Mechitov’s interviews.

Director: Aleksei Ermolaev
Producer: Susanna Khachatryan

Currently in the development stage, the film is already gaining international attention.

A fantasy story about Sergei Parajanov's life. He organizes a grand celebration in his house in Tbilisi and prepares the food, dresses up the guests, sings and dances with them. We learn that the authorities will do everything to disrupt the celebration and arrest him.

The Armenian-French animated feature Zako, helmed by Tigran Arakelyan and recently awarded the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award at Bordeaux’s CARTOON Movie, secured another prize at MPV – the Madstone Sound and Colour Grading Studio Award.
