The 48 Hour Film Project on Bonaire
The 48 Hour Film Project has been active on Bonare since October 2017. Since then, the 48HFP has been very successful on the Bonaire. In our second year we have doubled the teams that participate in the competition on Bonaire. Also, in our second year, the best film from Bonaire has been chosen at one of the 12 best films worldwide that were made in 48 hours. For this reason, the Bonairean film was screened in the Cannes festival in 2018, making it the first Caribbean island to screen a film at Cannes for the 48HFP competition. We are proud that our little island of Bonaire is mentioned among big countries around the world. And that is the power of the 48 Hour Film Project: it’s focused on local filmmakers.
