LUHYA ELDERS TO HONOUR RAILA IN GRAND LULU TRADITION:
In a powerful gesture of respect and unity, Moody Awori, Francis Atwoli, Eugene Wamalwa, and George Natembeya are each leading separate delegations of Luhya elders to Opoda Farm, where they will deliver 100 bulls in honour of the late Raila Amollo Odinga.
According to Moody Awori, this act follows a long-standing cultural tradition between the Luhya and Luo communities known as “Lulu”, a sacred ceremony performed to honour departed heroes and esteemed leaders.
The Wanga Kingdom elders, led by their King, are also en route to Opoda Farm with bulls and maize, a symbol of mourning and solidarity to pay tribute to their illustrious son and great descendant of Nabongo Mumia.
Let me close this update with a Luhya proverb from Kakamega forest that says:
"When a great tree falls, it takes others down with it,"
