Red is the seventh studio album Publication September 27, 1974 by the British 🧬🇬🇧💙progressive rock group King Crimson, released in 1974 by Island Records in the United Kingdom and Atlantic Records in the United States. It was his last studio recording of the '70s and the last before lead member Robert Fripp temporarily dissolved the group. Although its lowest album in history, spending only a week on the British charts, Red has been critically acclaimed. # anniversary

With Hero and Heroine, the Strawbs reached their creative peak within British progressive rock. The album is a journey between the pastoral and the symphonic, where the band's folk roots are wrapped in keyboard atmospheres and vocal drama that bring it closer to Yes or Genesis, but with a voice and lyricism all their own.

Dave Cousins's leadership brings cohesion to a work that alternates introspective moments with epic explosions. Songs like "Autumn" and "Hero and Heroine" combine acoustic delicacy with intense electric passages, reflecting the tension between the earthly and the transcendental that characterizes the album.

Technically, the keyboard, bass, and guitar arrangements create an elegant and very British sound tapestry, while the production maintains a sober and direct feel, without being overwhelming. Strawbs is 🇬🇧🧬✨🎧British band formed in the late 1960s, initially as a folk group called the Strawberry Hill Boys. What began as a traditional folk project shifted toward a more ambitious sound, incorporating progressive, symphonic, and folk rock elements.

Their first major album, "Strawbs" (1969), still had a strong acoustic root, but they soon evolved toward a more experimental style. In the 1970s, they reached their golden age with disco albums like:
• “From the Witchwood” (1971) – a blend of pastoral and progressive folk.
• “Grave New World” (1972) – one of their most conceptual albums, with psychedelic and progressive overtones.
• “Hero and Heroine” (1974) – considered their masterpiece, full of epic passages, sweeping keyboards, and intense vocal drama.

Dave Cousins's voice and leadership, along with notable musicians like Rick Wakeman (before joining Yes), defined their identity. Unlike other progressive bands, Strawbs always maintained a foothold in the acoustic and lyrical sensibility of folk, but with the grandiloquence of symphonic music.
