er guten Hoffnung sound system is hand build with great care and a thoughtful selection of components, be sure the music we release is Sound System prooved and will hit heavy in every aspect. We do everything in a DIY style, be it the label or be it trough involvement in production, mixing, dubbing, organizing sessions, or building boxes or other equipment . The label is operated by Darkwing Dub, who is a cultural activist, producer, selecta, sound system builder and is working as a graphic designer with various labels like Lion’s Den, Black Redemption and Woodland Records. Huge thanks is going to all friends and family, the label could not exist without the support from you. This project has come a long way - from the moment Dubbing Sun first sent me the initial riddim, to voicing Easton Clarke and later Haroon Ayyaz, adding live drums, horns, and building two versions that each carry their own message and spirit. It went through setbacks, recuts, delavs... but all of it shaped the record into what it is now. The vinyl is finally here, shipping out, and I'm grateful for everyone who made it possible and everyone supporting the release.

Today is Release Day!

The Imperial Riddim EP is officially out now on Bandcamp.
This project has been a long journey, built on a heavyweight riddim by DUBBING SUN SOUNDSYSTEM & Bukkha , featuring two deep cuts:

A-side: Really and Truly — a spiritual One Drop anthem voiced by Haroon Ayyaz, enriched with live drums by Karigan and horns by Vale.
B-side: Spoiled Cake — a Steppas message from Jamaican legend Easton Clarke.

Artwork and design come from Darkwing Dub, centered around the historic Lion of Judah.

Alongside the EP, I’ve also added our new Lion of Judah T-shirts — professionally printed in Austria on lightweight organic cotton. Available in multiple colors and sizes.

Release day is finally here, and I want to share the story behind the Imperial Riddim EP.

This project started when David from Dubbing Sun sent me a nearly finished Steppas cut with Easton Clarke on vocals. From the first listen, I knew I wanted it on my label — but I also felt it could grow even further.
At that time I was connected to Dubapest HiFi through Dub Vibration Festival, so the idea came:

let’s voice Haroon Ayyaz on a second version.
When I received his recording, it was pure goosebumps. His praise to His Imperial Majesty and the spiritual power in his delivery touched something deeply important to me. Rastafari plays a big role in this release, and Haroon brought that message to life.

To give his cut the right heartbeat, Karigan recorded live One Drop drums, and from there Dubbing Sun crafted the dub versions and specials.
This release wasn’t easy — delays, setbacks, obstacles… but in a strange way, all of that made today feel even more special. The project seemed to find its own timing.
Now it’s finally here: a collaboration across Jamaica, Austria, Spain, and Hungary, built with love, respect, and roots & culture.

I’m grateful for everyone involved — and for everyone supporting the music.
The Imperial Riddim EP is now available on Bandcamp.

Tested the Imperial Riddim EP on the sound system this weekend — and it felt powerful.
Here’s a little glimpse: the vinyl spinning on the turntable, the sleeve in front, and in the background the red–gold–green Lion of Judah flag — my very first attempt at this design years ago.
A full circle moment.
Release coming this Friday on Bandcamp.
