Summer ti(m)e

Light colored, made from linen - sounds like the perfect summer garment doesn’t it?

Pairing a light tie though can be quite challenging at times - a beloved go to of mine is a light blue denim shirt which creates a nice Soft contrast to the lighter tie - here a green herringbone tie from

Ties and summer

As much as I love a nice tie (like this vintage paisley tie from etro) hot weather usually has me wearing open collars or neckerchiefs for better heat regulation.
The last couple of days though were very rainy and cool so I got to whip out some tie looks again - like this one.

Warmer days from the past

Currently we are experiencing a lot of rain and temps somewhere in the low 20ies but only last week there was a heat wave. I guess these events will occur more and more in future.

Anyway, for the warmer days I love to wear linen or fresco - both here in this tonal brown combination. Color highlight is the red striped seersucker shirt.

Pistachio & cream

Wide, flowy and light to beat the heat in the city. Sometimes all it needs are chinos and a polo shirt. And of course horsebit loafers.

Under the Tuscan sun

The summer roof top gala (3 years ago) was the first event of I attended. It’s a great way to kick off Pitti Uomo and meet new and old friends, share a drink and laugh and talk all things menswear.

All set before the beautiful backdrop of Florence and the setting Tuscan sun.

What I wore:
Jacket: vintage light blue linen mix
Shirt: seersucker
Trousers: thrifted bespoke
Neckerchief: Firenze neckerchief
Shoes: penny loafers

Under the Florentine sun

Walking the Florentine streets we found a beautiful stone bench halfway in the shadow from the setting sun. It’s amazing how photogenic that city is.
