The FWMF International Film Awards showcases the very best films entered into the festival each year, with awards given out across four categories. Seven films were shortlisted for 2022, with the final winners announced as:

BEST SHORT FILM: The Longest Line (15 mins)

Geboren am 20. September 1930, aufgewachsen in München und den Bayerischen Alpen, beginnt Hermann Huber als 15-Jähriger in der Salewa Lederwarenfabrik GmbH zu arbeiten. Er baut die Sparte Bergsport kontinuierlich aus, bis er 1972 Geschäftsführer und als „Mr. Salewa“ international bekannt wird. Neben seinen beruflichen reiht Hermann klettersportliche Erfolge weltweit aneinander. Das Besondere aber ist: Auch in hohem Alter hat sich Hermann Huber seine Begeisterung, seine Neugier und seinen Tatendrang bewahrt – und ist damit nicht nur zur Alpinlegende, sondern auch zum Vorbild geworden.
