Thank you all for your support and trust during the past winter. It was a challenging season in which we made the most of what we had. Now we’ll take some time to reflect on things and on the future of SkiMo Stats, and see what happens after the summer... 🙏

The skimo world has lost a legend. Sad news has arrived from Arêches. Guy Blanc, the founder of the Pierra Menta, has passed away.

Today, Pierra Menta wrote of him: “He was always grateful for the trust you placed in him since 1986.”

But we have to say it the other way around: We will always be grateful for what he gave our sport since 1986. We will always remember you, Guy.

His legacy will live forever. Trust your ideas, even when they seem crazy. That is exactly what he did back in the 1980s, when the Pierra Menta was just an idea in his head. Today, it is the soul of ski mountaineering racing.

Our deepest condolences to the Blanc family, to Arêches-Beaufort, and to all who were close to him.

💥 and set a new FKT on the famous Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt! The French girls and close friends completed the route in 20h34’.

Their idea dates back to 2025, inspired by and , the duo who paved the way for women on this epic crossing.

For Marie and Laurie, it was above all a personal adventure. The main goal was to complete the route together as friends. They usually race and train together, and this was something to enjoy first and foremost. The record was not their primary focus.

They did a recon of the first half the week before. Then, conditions turned perfect, so they gave it a try without having checked the second half. And they did it — fast, and in amazing style. We really like to see women taking on such big projects. Kudos to you, and thanks for the inspiration!

Genova to Capanna Regina Margherita (4554m) in 11h00’07. did this amazing FKT after a year of planning and preparation, beating the previous record by 52 minutes.

The idea began in February 2024 during a race in Italy, when he discussed the challenge of combining cycling and ski mountaineering with , who encouraged him to pursue it.

“Right away, I didn’t fully realise what I had achieved... Beating the previous time by over 50 minutes means so much to me. All the effort and sacrifices, the time dedicated to training have paid off in making this dream come true. I want to thank everyone who supported me throughout this incredible journey.”

The Sprint Queen also ruled this winter. 5 out of 5, missed 2 sprints, and she still finished 3rd in the discipline ranking!

That’s 24 Sprint World Cup career wins. The first came in December ‘21.
