koeniglollipop - Pantheism at Praterstern

Nach dem Release „Fame Over“, damals noch unter dem Namen koenig riegler, schlägt diese Platte klanglich wieder eine Brücke zurück zu den koenigleopold-Veröffentlichungen. Vertrauter Sound, aber neu aufgeladen: roher und zugleich offener, weniger Pose, mehr Gefühl. In diesem Klangraum wird über die Sauberkeit von Autos in der ordinärsten Sprache gesprochen, die Durchimpfung der Gesellschaft als Durchspritzen bezeichnet, während an anderer Stelle ein Bordell zum Namensgeber einer Straße wird, von der aus der Blick über die Stadt sich wie ein Universum öffnet.

A little late, but never too late: At the beginning of June, we celebrated Ventil Records‘ 10th anniversary. It’s hard to believe how quickly time flies. We look back on 10 incredible years filled with wonderful people and collaborations, amazing artists, over 40 releases, nerve-wracking work meetings, and great times in general. I would like to thank everyone who has supported Ventil Records over the years and been involved in various ways.

Many thanks to everyone who celebrated with us at Flucc. I was very touched by how many people showed up. It felt like a kind, warm-hearted community.

KUTIN - CIRCULAR DIVISIONS VOL. 1
limited lp & digital

BODY—a quadraphonic loudspeaker system that rotates at varying frequencies. Originally conceived as a live performance interweaving audio, video, and light kinetics, this work has been presented at renowned international festivals, including Mutek, Elevate, and Sonica. For this LP, composer Peter Kutin shifts focus by dissolving the visual elements and concentrating exclusively on the sonic characteristics of the instrument, arranging them specifically for the stereo format.

Known for their solo projects (Rent, Asfast, Karolina Preuschl, Gischt) in the Viennese experimental electronic scene, Katrin Euller, Leon Leder, Karolina Preuschl and Ursula Winterauer have been active for several years and together have founded a band format whose strength is fuelled by their different influences and independent approaches.

ALCHEMICAL ALLURES

»Alchemical Allures« is the first album by the duo Claussen/Klement, founded in 2019.

With a unique instrumentation of voice, objects, zither and electronics, the artists have created a soundscape composed of field recordings, vocal and instrumental elements as well as electronically generated sounds and noises.

All the tracks on this album were recorded during a residency at the Center National de Création Musicale GMEA in Albi-Tarn in July 2022.

Rent ist the pseudonym of artist and ecologist Katrin Euller. Rent’s sounds refer to industrial ecosystems, interconnections, dark landscapes and their stories and the stories of those who inhabit these places. At the same time, it is the processes of sound creation itself that emerge in Rent’s compositions: sounds influence each other, reinforce each other, cancel each other out, dissolve and become noise, sound like the city, a car alarm for example. Then everything gets lost in the fog again.

SKULPTUR captures a live performance of the Viennese duo in a studio environment. Equipped with electric guitar and bass, they introduce live re-sampling techniques and heavy use of stereo panorama effect pedals to weave layers of fluid rhythmic structures. This sculpture of sound is constantly morphing but never ceases to exist. Blasting clouds of distorted harmony, schtum are reimagining their own narrative of epic storytelling.

We are pleased to present our new artist-in-residence program in cooperation with Westbahnstudios.

This year, four great international artists will spend some time in Vienna to work on new projects: Yuko Araki, Mark Fell, Mariam Rezaei & Victoria Shen. The residency always ends with a performance by the respective artists at the Westbahnstudios.

Our first guest is none other than Mark Fell, who has been residing and experimenting at Westbahnstudios together with Studio Dan for some time now.

The final performance of his stay will already take place in two days on May 31, 2024 from 8 pm in the Westbahnstudios. We are also very pleased that the second concert of the evening will be contributed by Stefan Juster alias Jung an Tagen.
