Toi, toi, toi to Beth Taylor: Mezzo-Soprano, who makes her eagerly awaited debut with the LA Phil as alto soloist in Gustav Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 2, the “Resurrection,” under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel. These performances hold special significance as they take place during Dudamel’s final season as Music and Artistic Director of the orchestra. The first concert is tonight, followed by additional performances on October 10, 11, and 12, 2025.
Just two weeks later, she joins the orchestra on its Asian tour, with appearances at the Seoul Arts Centre (Oct. 21), Tokyo’s Suntory Hall (Oct. 25), the National Concert Hall in Taiwan (Oct. 29), and the Taikang Cultural Centre (Oct. 30).
The Scottish mezzo-soprano has been swiftly establishing herself as a leading Mahler interpreter. Widely praised for her performances of the Resurrection Symphony with major ensembles—including the London Philharmonic Orchestra—she will return to the work later this season with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
