OFFICIAL: Arsenal renew contract with Gabriel, new deal runs until June, 2029.

June 6, Arsenal officially announced the renewal of Gabriel's contract, with the new deal set to expire in 2029.

Gabriel has signed a new long-term contract with us.
The 27-year-old defender joined from Ligue 1 side Lille in September 2020. He has made 210 appearances in all competitions, becoming a key member of the backline, and has scored 20 goals.
Gabriel's career began at Avai FC in Santa Catarina, Brazil, before moving to France to sign for Lille in January 2017. The center-back had loan spells at Troyes (Ligue 1) and Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia), winning the domestic league and cup double with Dinamo Zagreb during the 2017/18 season.
Since scoring on his debut in the 2020/21 Premier League season opener away to Fulham, Gabriel has consistently posed an attacking threat, becoming the highest-scoring defender in the Premier League during this period.
Just over two years after arriving in England, Gabriel signed his first contract extension with the club, a testament to his importance as an indispensable core member. His consistent performances earned him a place in the 2023/24 PFA Team of the Year. At the start of that season, he lifted the Community Shield trophy at Wembley Stadium after a penalty shootout victory over Manchester City.
In the past two Premier League seasons, Gabriel has been a mainstay in the defense, helping the team become one of the least conceding sides. Beyond his defensive solidity, his natural goal-scoring ability has brought frequent joy, none more memorable than his last-gasp winner away to Tottenham Hotspur in September 2024.
