This Sunday on 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 at 4pm, we rebroadcast Doug Beecroft's interview with Diana McVeagh as a tribute. Sadly, Diana McVeagh passed away in July this year at the age of 98.

In late 2019, Doug Beecroft had the privilege of visiting renowned music critic and writer Diana McVeagh at her home just outside London. During this memorable meeting, he recorded an interview with Diana, whose distinguished career spans more than six decades and includes close associations with many of the 20th century’s most celebrated musicians.

Diana McVeagh studied piano at the Royal College of Music and served as a critic for 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴. She is internationally respected for her serious contributions to music scholarship, particularly through her acclaimed books on Sir Edward Elgar and Gerald Finzi.

Our best wishes to the musicians competing in Melbourne Recital Centre's Great Romantics Competition this Sunday afternoon.

📻 3MBS will be there to record the entire event and then broadcast the performances during 𝘔𝘦𝘭𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵 at 6.30pm next Sunday 28 September.
