While we’re away from our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) we do it in our caravan. Usually I conduct and assign talks or music to one of the family.
We’ve been working through the general conference talks (hopefully by inspiration from the Holy Ghost) and various new church hymns.
This morning we enjoyed this hymn -

Simple and catchy. I really enjoyed it!

Very impressed by my son’s hydraulic crane model.
Distance education! 👍

I hope our travelling friends are doing OK. Pretty intense winds here last night!
We’re a bit windswept but otherwise well.

Whereever you’re travelling the sunsets are beautiful.

To add to my list of things not going my way today. The main 3 tanks pump (most likely the pressure sensor) has died.
I have now moved the three tanks onto the drinking pump and have both the drinking water tap and main water off the one pump.
That pump was a new (warranty replacement) variable speed pump which keeps triggering the BMPro electrical fuse and turning off. I’ve connected both pumps power lines to that one and so far it’s staying on.
Boy what a day, the pressure sensors on these pumps SUCK!

So, it’s a win?

I just took off our pressure limiting valve (PLV) to clean it. As we’ve had poor pressure on mains for some time, and I was lead to believe that cleaning it is easy. Fast forward an hour and I can’t open it at all (I suspect a vice would be needed) and apparently in attempting to open it (jamming a wrench into a hole in the stabiliser leg mount as a pseudo-vice sort of thing) I deformed the female end (picture attached). Now I can’t put the PLV back on!
Testing running the pump and sure enough water is coming out the hose, the PLV has a check valve (one way valve) that stops the water coming back out.
Thankfully I had a valve to fit for another project. What I didn’t realise is that it is directional. Having the pump on, water was still was coming out and the little plastic tap handle popped off!
After a few more minutes I discovered it had a directional arrow.
Now you can see it isn’t spewing out water.

Quick express post order for a new PLV and hoping the plastic fitting that screws in to the PLV and provides the push fitting is not too mangled to reattach. It is just the tip that looks a little funky.

Living off refilled tanks for the rest of the week, at least.
Could have been worse and only have the drinking water tank and pump.

The John Guest press fitting is darn good. I’m impressed with the simplicity and ease that I pushed it on and no leaks (when you have it around the right way).

This happened… again.
Twice in one year!
This time it is a failed power steering pump. I pray it’s a quick and low cost fix.

Pye found a new friend yesterday.
This good boy had been roaming around where we’re staying at the moment. He stuck close to Pye and she built a makeshift kennel for it for last night on my suggestion. We monitored the camp grounds and no one was looking for a dog .
She gave it some cooked off cuts from drinner last night and some water. He is doing well.
Very happy to see Pye this morning!
I’ve contacted the council and the person thinks they know whose doggo this is.

I’ll let you know what happens as the story unfolds.

:update:
Thommo, the owner, came to pick up ‘Buster’.
Apparently his wife was involved in a rollover accident and the dog ran off. I think he was probably quite stressed and ran away.
Pye spotted him yesterday, but it sounds like he had been out for at least one more night. He said a cheerful good bye as he hopped in the back seat of the ute.
He was very well behaved around us, no violent behaviour at all, no barking or anything.

Mundulla showgrounds. A lovely little gem of a spot. I’m glad we chose to stop here a couple of nights.

We had the (dis)pleasure of testing my inverter/charger handywork today.
Meaning I had to plug in to a generator that we were graciously loaned. The caravan charged to full! My goodness we were limited by the old system.

All good. No fires or explosions! 👍
