When design meets diversity: new exosuit tech built for female workers

In today’s evolving workforce, inclusive design isn’t optional; it’s essential. At SA2050, we’re proud to bring the HeroWear Apex to Australia, a suite engineered from day one with female workers in mind.

Here’s why it matters:

● Women now participate in the Australian workforce at a rate of 63.4 per cent (April 2025 data) – a record high.
● In the 2021-22 financial year, around 24 per cent of all work-related injuries in Australia were caused by manual tasks like lifting, pushing, pulling or bending.
● Traditional exosuits or lifting aids are often modelled on male anatomy, leaving women exposed to fit, comfort or posture issues. The Apex explicitly addresses these gaps with:

⚬ Curved straps for narrower shoulders and shorter torsos.
⚬ An open-chest design to avoid compression of sensitive tissue.
⚬ Accommodation for a greater Q-angle (hip-to-thigh) is typical in women, enabling more natural movement.
