Another duck! radio debut show launches tomorrow, very excited to welcome dub lover Josh into our radio community ✨✨.
“Rooted in the sound system culture that birthed the genre of Dubstep, Jenk brings a deep respect for its reggae and dub foundations. Jenk has spent over a decade following the scene, digging deep into its history and watching the genre continue to evolve. His sets draw heavily from the old-school roots of dubstep, weaving weighty sub-bass, dubbed-out textures, stripped-back rhythms and deep, dark grooves with the murkier and more experimental sounds pushing the genre forward”.
A key part of Jenk’s sound is his collection of vinyl-only dubstep, so if we’re lucky, we might be hearing some special rare-cuts. He honours these records by playing them as they were intended: loud, physical and through a proper sound system. Now we just gotta build that system…
From bedroom bass lover, to local party dj, to festival support and now to us. It’s such a blessing to have more bass and dubstep joining our Sunday programs, especially from someone like Josh, who cares so much about preserving our common language - sound.
