I Hope You Don’t Do This
I’m not sure who needs to hear this today… but something struck me, and I feel called to share it.
People remember you the way they last saw you. Not just physically—but emotionally. Spiritually. Energetically. That final snapshot of who you were in that moment becomes frozen in their mind, like a paused film.
Maybe the last time they saw you, you were in pieces—hurting, anxious, overwhelmed. Maybe you’d just been broken by something or someone, or you were lost in a storm of grief, burnout, or betrayal. You might’ve cried in front of them, confided your fears, or let them see the unfiltered, raw version of you.
And if they haven’t seen you since… that version is all they have. That’s how they remember you.
But here’s the truth:
You are not that person anymore.
None of us are.
We shift. We grow. We shed. We heal.
Every sunrise offers a new opportunity to rise differently. Every scar fades or becomes part of a new story. And every breath is a chance to choose again—how we love, how we live, how we show up.
So please, when someone reaches out after time apart—or when you find yourself reaching out to someone you once knew in their hardest hour—pause. Breathe. And remember this:
They are probably not how you remember them.
Let them be new. Let yourself be new.
Give grace for the evolution.
Because we are all doing the best we can to become who we were always meant to be.
Regards
AJe
