I’ve been a Potion Fairy since I began (in Jan 2024) and when I recently heard about the children’s book “Nature’s Magic Potion” by Bella Traynor, (Early Years Educator), I had to dive in! 🧚🌸🫶✨
Beautifully illustrated by Irin Hurren it was only published recently in Oct 2024! 🌸✨
This book is so special to me because when I host my Potion Parties I always start by asking the children if they’ve ever made a Potion before. Around only 10% will raise their hands. 🥹🌿🧚🫶✨
Potion Play is still relatively new in Adelaide. This beautiful book explores that Potions are magical just being made from nature or things in the garden. 🌿✨
It’s a beautiful way to explain the process, what nature play is and the sensory and mindful side! It lists native Australian plants and has some a gentle tone with stunning imagery! 🌿🫶✨
From now on, I’ll be reading it at all my Potion Parties before we get into the magic making! If you’re new to Potion Play, or you’re looking for books for your school or community library, check this one out! 🧚✨
It was a hit at my recent Potions Event for Firstival at Enfield Library with 20 kids and 20 adults joining in on the Magic! 🧚🌿🫶✨
Nature’s Magic Potion:
“Two young children head out into the Australian bush to find the perfect mix of natural ingredients for their magic potion!
Along the way the children find gumnuts, leaves, native blossoms and fresh water to add to their potion, mixing and stirring to see what type of magic they will create.
This charming book of rhyme and colour will inspire your young children to marvel in nature and explore the outdoors using imaginative play.
Come along on the journey with us to make a magic potion using what we can find in our beautiful backyard.”
